Summary
[edit]DescriptionDour Hill - Trig Pillar S7697 - geograph.org.uk - 819065.jpg |
English: Dour Hill - Trig Pillar S7697 The summit of Dour Hill is on the western of the MoD firing ranges at Otterburn, Redesdale. During periods of live firing, this top can only be accessed from the west side. The trig pillar was completed 19th November 1953 costing £17.7s.6d. Computed for triangulation as a tertiary station in 1957, levelled in 1958, and last maintained by the OS in November 1986. In 2008, the pillar is still in good condition. OSBM flush levelling bracket S7697 is on the east face of the pillar. The sign in the foreground warns of possible live firing and dangerous military debris on the ground. |
