Description
English: A U.S. Navy Douglas AD-6 Skyraider (BuNo 137552) and an AD-7 (BuNo 142076) of Attack Squadron 96 (VA-96) in flight. VA-96 was assigned to Air Task Group 3 (ATG-3) aboard the aircraft carrier USS Kearsarge (CVA-33) for a deployment to the Western Pacific from 9 August 1957 to 2 April 1958.
  • 137552 was transferred to the U.S. Air Force in 1968 and later crashed near Nakhon Phanom Royal Thai Air Force Base due to battle damage on 29 December 1969 while being assigned to the 602nd Special Operations Squadron. The pilot was rescued.
  • 142076 was transferred to the U.S. Air Force in May 1968. It was written off following combat damage and a crash landing in March 1972 while being assigned to the 1st Special Operations Squadron.
