Description
English: Douglas Yeo in 1998, backstage of the Koussevitzky Music Shed, Tanglewood, Lenox, Massachusetts, holding four serpents. In order of size, from largest to smallest: contrabass serpent in 16´ CC by Christopher Monk (1990); church serpent in 8´ C after Baudouin, 1 key, by Keith Rogers and Nicholas Perry (1998); tenor serpent aka “serpet” in 4´ C by Christopher Monk (1984); soprano serpent, aka “worm” in 2´ C by Christopher Monk (1986), used to play the serpent solo in the première of The Amherst Suite.
