| Description |
English: Up freight entering Doncaster. View northward, towards York etc. on the ECML (ex-GN and NE), also towards Wakefield, Leeds/Bradford and Hull by ex-GN, also Grimsby and Cleethorpes by ex-GC. The Class H freight is probably from the York line, being headed by one of Newport (Tees-side)'s many ex-WD 2-8-0s. No. 90435 was built in 1/44 as 7486 (later 77486), loaned to the SR at Stewarts Lane then Hither Green, shipped to France in 11/44 and returned in 1/46. It was one of the 200 purchased by the LNER, becoming O7 No. 3114 (63114) and allocated to the NE Area, remaining there until withdrawn in 9/63. |
