English: Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes of Bamban - Bamban, Tarlac[1][2] Bamban Hills: Site of the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes.[3] [4] Bamban Park / Lugay Park Sampalok – Panaisan road, Bamban, Tarlac This park has a 100-step stairway that leads to a grotto of the Our Lady of Lourdes. At its sides are bonsai farms and mini-restaurants.[5] [6] [7] Bamban Park The park was carved along the hilly area near the national highway in Tarlac and is quite visible from the road with its imposing grotto of Virgin Mary pedestalled on a hill. One has to hurdle a 100-step stairway before reaching the grotto. The area is characterized by stretches of roadside mini-restaurants and bonsai farms - all catering to commuters bound for the north. People visit the place to pay homage to the Blessed Mother or do mountain trekking on the side. It, however, is still predominantly Kapampangan, like the Municipalities of Capas and Concepcion.[14] It was in 1873 when Bamban was politically transferred from the province of Pampanga and became a town of the province of Tarlac. Don Manuel Sibal was its first “Kapitan” or head.
