Description
Français : Dolichovespula maculata, communément appelée "guêpe à tâches blanches" est un insecte de l'ordre des Hyménoptères. En effet, il a des ailes antérieures plus grandes que les ailes postérieures qui sont accrochées entre elles grâce à de petits crochets. Il a le corps noir avec des lignes et bandes blanches ornant la tête, le thorax et les derniers segments de l’abdomen, d'où son nom commun. On observe la présence d'un espace entre la mandibule et l’œil du spécimen (espace oculo-malaire, caractéristique du genre Dolichovespula). Le spécimen possède trois ocelles derrière la tête pour capter la lumière.
