Summary
[edit]DescriptionDobrogeanu-Gherea, letter to Zarifopol, March 22, 1906 ILR 550.jpg |
English: Final page of a letter from Romanian philosopher Constantin Dobrogeanu-Gherea, addressed to his son-in-law, literary critic Paul "Păvălucă" Zarifopol (text rendered in full in Călinescu, p.553). At the time, Zarifopol and wife Sonia were living in Leipzig, and the Ghereas in Bucharest. Dobrogeanu-Gherea talks about his friendship with dramatist Ion Luca Caragiale (a resident of Berlin) and (repeatedly) his hopes of visiting both writers in Germany. The letter also addresses greetings from Gherea's son: the future philosopher Ionel Gherea and the future communist activist Alexandru "Sașca" Dobrogeanu-Gherea. |
