Description
English: Diwan I Aam means Hall of Public Audience. Fatehpur Sikri is a town near Agra. It was built from 1571 to 1585 as a form of homage to the memory of great Sufi saint, Sheikh Salim Chisti by third Mughal emperor ,Akbar and stood as capital for some time in his empire. While administrating his empire ,Akbar interacted with his subjects in Diwan I Aam . It is a magnificent monument made with red sand stone . Finding its name in the prestigious list of heritage monuments as laid down by the renowned organization , UNESCO , Fatehpur Sikri is today one of the greatest prides of Indian culture.
This place is a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the reference 255.
