Description
English: The blue-crowned 'N' stamp, found inside the plinth (► https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Discobole_by_Mathieu_Kessels_%E2%80%94_Capodimonte_porcelain,_mark.jpg), relates this statuette to the Real Fabbrica di Capodimonte (Naples, Italy) and allows to date it to the years 1825 to 1835. 

The statuette is derived from the original real-size plaster cast created in 1822 by Mathieu Kessels (1787-1836) [most likely from anonymous drawings created based on it], which could be viewed in Kessels' studio in Rome, Piazza de' Cappuccini, until its purchase by the Belgian State in 1836 : ► https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Brussels,_Kessels%27_Discobole,_life-size_plaster_model.jpg
