| Description |
English: Dicksonia antarctica tree ferns in the snow. These two fine examples of this plant, also known as the Tasmanian tree fern, are just inside the garden of Carwinion House, which lies at the head of the sheltered south-facing Carwinion Valley. Many of these have self-set in the woods lower down the valley. Snow and freezing temperatures are very rare here, which has enabled these specimens to grow to a large size. Whether they survive this snowfall remains to be seen. |
