Summary
[edit]DescriptionDiachrysia chrysitis (7522026618).jpg |
Diachrysia chrysitis (Linnaeus, 1758), Burnished Brass, to Robinson trap, Hellerup, Denmark, 6/7 July 2012 Noctuidae Europaeae 10 accepts both Diachrysia chrysitis and Diachrysia stenochrysis (Warren, 1913) as good species, with stenochrysis typically showing a more rounded medial brown patch on the dorsum, and with chrysitis sometimes linking the two metallic fields. On this basis, this specimen would seem to be chrysitis, although the wavy subterminal line that limits the distal metallic field matches a character provided there for stenochrysis. On the other hand the site of the Swedish Naturhistoriska Riksmuseet shows a very close individual to this moth as stenochrysis and Danmarks Sommerfugle by Top-Jensen and Fibiger treats any linkage between the metallic fields as a character for stenochrysis. |
