English: Dharmaraj temple at Kalikata in Howrah district , West Bengal. The Aatchala styled temple in a village named similar to the megacity Kolkata was build in 1797 under supervision of Gayaram Deyashi by artisan Abhay Charan Mistri. The place got its name because it was once a centre for creating lime by burning unoccupied shells. Such lime were known as "Kali Choon" and the heap of burnt shells as "Kata". |
