Italiano: Nel piccolo paese di San Marzano, in provincia di Taranto, ogni anno si svolgono i festeggiamenti in onore di San Giuseppe. Per il paese sfilano diversi carri di ogni natura e trainati dai devoto o dai loro animali, carichi di potatura degli ulivi. Insieme a loro anche semplici devoti che trascinano fascine e tronchi di legno con cavalli addobbati di campanelli e anziane devote che recitano e cantano preghiere e canzoni per San Giuseppe. La legna trasportata viene poi ammonticchiata in un grande falò (chiamato in lingua arbereshe “zjarrhe madhe”) alla periferia del paese e bruciata in un clima di festa.
Alcuni esperti di storia e tradizioni ritengono che il grande “Zjar i Madhe” sia il più antico del Sud Italia. Nasce infatti 150 anni fa circa. Percorrendo le vie principali della cittadina di San Marzano, durante la processione alcuni cavalli si inginocchiano davanti a San Giuseppe in segno di forte devozione, il tutto tra migliaia di curiosi e fedeli che giungono da ogni parte del Sud Italia. |
