Description
English: Gran Dama Oferente - piedra caliza

Cultura ibérica, siglo III a. C. Santuario del Cerro de

los Santos (Montealegre del Castillo, Albacete). Escultura femenina labrada en bulto redondo, a tamaño casi natural, en actitud oferente. Va ataviada con una superposición de tres túnicas, la superior cerrada en el cuello con una fíbula tipo La Tène y sobre ellas un pesado manto. Ricamente enjoyada, símbolo de su estatus, lleva peinado de tirabuzones y un elaborado postizo, rematado por rodetes que enmarcan su rostro. Por su vestimenta y ornamentación se ha identificado con una mujer joven en su presentación a la divinidad, como parte de un rito de paso de edad. (Fuente: el MAN)
