Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Monteleone Chariot is an Etruscan chariot dated to ca. 530 BCE. It was originally uncovered at Monteleone di Spoleto and is currently part of the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Though about 300 ancient chariots are known to still exist, only six are reasonably complete, and the Monteleone chariot is the best-preserved. (This summary was created using Commons SumItUp). This version of the image has been white balanced, tightly cropped to provide a detailed view of Thetis presenting the new armor to Achilles, and the background has been changed to white.
Date circa 530 BCE
