Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Coat of arms of Denmark. Version used from 1903 to 1948. Christian X of Denmark also carried the title of King of Iceland 1918-1944, and despite the end of monarchy in Iceland in 1944, his coat of arms continued to display the Icelandic falcon until his death (1947). The falcon was removed from the Danish arms in 1948 during the reign of his son, King Frederick IX.

Author
English: The artist's name is not indicated in the corresponding article or elsewhere in the publication. However, as the number of contemporary Danish illustrators of heraldry is very limited, the only likely candidate for a match to the initials K.J. is Karl Georg Jensen (1851-1933) who was one of the main suppliers of illustrations for Thiset's Magnum Opus Danske Kongelige Sigiller 1085-1559 which Thiset was working on at the same time, and who was better known as Karl Jensen. I consequently believe that the creator of this image must have died more than 70 years ago.
