BREEDERS AND GROWERS 2V PEAS (continued) Height Length of plant of poa inches inches Days PIXIE 28 2% 57 This recently introduced small-sieve variety is of the regular Alaska type in plant form and habit of growth, but the vine color is slightly darker and the pods more slender, with 25% to 50% doubles instead of the normal single pods. Fully re- sistant to Fusarium wilt and yielding with the best Alaska strains. Extensive tests by commercial canners have proved its ability to provide an early and attractive pack of small peas. Sieve sizes 1 to 3, largely 2 and 3, with very few 4. Seeds small, round, smooth: 175 per oz. YUKON (Sgj™) 35 2^ 5g A more vigorous vined Alaska reaching canning maturity about two days later than regular Asgrow Alaska. Pods are similar but slightly larger; resistant to Fusarium wilt and a reliable cropper under adverse conditions. Of particular value to packers of Alaska type peas, helping to meet AIS standards and offering larger yields of high quality, small sieve sizes when harvested early. Sieve sizes 1 to 5, largely 3 and 4. Seeds: 130 per oz.
