Description
English: Descending over Lining Crag
  • The hot, muggy, hazy summer of 1975 was perhaps not the ideal time to do the Coast to Coast walk from east to west.
  • Having climbed from Grasmere and come over Greenup Edge, the walk descends to Lining Crag, where I was much taken by the afternoon light on the dried grasses atop the moraines in the Greenup Gill valley below, whilst the damper hollows remained green. I can narrow the date down to the 13th or 14th August.
