Description
Deutsch: Albert Lortzing-Wohnhaus – Wien 4.,Wiedner Hauptstraße 50,Fleischmanngasse Nr.1 Albert Lortzing (*23.10.1801 Berlin,+21.1.1851 Berlin) Komponist,wohnte hier in den Jahren 1846-1848 als er am Theater an der Wien als Kapellmeister tätig war. Hier wurde auch seine Oper „Der Waffenschmied“ am 31.5.1846 uraufgeführt. Die Skulptur des Waffenschmiedes wurde von dem akad. Bildhauer Franz Barwig geschaffen und am 22.4.1950 enthüllt.
English: Albert Lortzing (* 23.10.1801 Berlin, + 21.1.1851 Berlin) composer, lived here in Vienna, Wiedner Hauptstraße 50, Fleischmanngasse 1 (1846-1848).He worked as Conductor at the „Theater an der Wien”. His opera "Der Waffenschmied" was premiered at the 31.5.1846. The sculpture of the order was the akad. Sculptor Franz Barwig created and unveiled at the 22.4.1950.
