| Description | Dendroica townsendi After the apple leaves fell, I started noticing this Townsends Warbler in my backyard. He was coming to the few odd apples left hanging on the tree. So I got the bright idea of setting an apple on the edge of the deck to see if he would come to it, and it worked. This picture was taken out my bedroom door...about 10 feet from the bird. I had been trying for a shot of this species for several years but they are quite flighty, like so many warblers are. I'm happy with this shot, even though it might be better if I brightened it a bit...(as is from the camera with minimum cropping) |
