English: The demolition of the original portions of the Eaton's department store in 1923 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Timothy Eaton moved his store north of Queen Street in 1883 (1884 image). Eaton's slowly purchased surrounding properties and expanded the store (1901 image), eventually occupying most of a city block. In 1923, the remaining portions of the original store were demolished to allow for the construction of more gross floor area (1923 image after construction completed). |
