Title |
Delft tile |
||
Description |
English: 1. A large fragment of a square delft tile with a circular panel executed in purple. The scene is thought to depict the Intercession, the bishop-like figure being intended to be Pontius Pilate. Christ may be the nimbate figure partially visible on the right.
2. A fragmentary tile with foliate and floral motifs executed in purple, green, blue and yellow. A second fragment in this pattern was also found. 3. A group of sherds of clear-glazed redware bowls or dishes with white slip. This type of pottery is known as Metropolitan Slipware. |
