English: Security Policeman Airman 1st Class Chris Culross stands guard at the Flightline Entry Control Point at Prince Sultan Air Base, Al Kharj, Saudi Arabia, on Sept. 4, 1996. The security police contingent at Al Kharj has established a single entry point for all vehicles as security measure which allows for tighter control of vehicle movement on and off the flightline. Personnel, aircraft, and equipment conducting Operation Southern Watch are being moved from bases in Dhahran and Riyadh to the remote desert air base to reduce their vulnerability to terrorist attack. Southern Watch is the U.S. and coalition enforcement of the no-fly-zone over Southern Iraq. Culcross is deployed to Saudi Arabia from the 320th Security Police Squadron, F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyo. |
