Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England presented the Superior Public Service Award to Sinise prior to the concert in recognition of his work with the United Service Organizations tours and his visits with wounded heroes at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the National Navy Medical Center. Sinise also co-founded the Operation Iraqi Children with author Laura Hillenbrand, in an effort to help educate Iraqi children. |
