Description
English: A U.S. Marine Corps MV-22 Osprey prepares to takeoff from the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1) at Naval Station Norfolk, Va., on Nov. 2, 2005. The tiltrotor aircraft is scheduled to replace the aging CH-46E Sea Knight and CH-53D Sea Stallion helicopters currently in service. The Osprey is assigned to Marine Tiltrotor Operational Test and Evaluation Squadron 22 of Marine Corps Air Station New River, N.C.
