English: A nurse with 33 Field Hospital, Army Medical Services (AMS) operates medical equipment at Camp Bastion Hospital in Afghanistan. 33 Field Hospital's role is to deliver and provide deployed hospital care in any environment. This requires a peace-time cadre that delivers command and control, administration, diverse clinical skill-sets, and equipment management (at a 'Readiness' level in accord with its particular mission). It is prominently manned by personnel from the Royal Army Medical Corps, but has Queen Alexander Royal Army Nursing Corps, Royal Army Dental Corps, Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers, Royal Logistic Corps and Adjutant Generals Corps within its ranks. The unit has recently completed operations in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Notably, in the latter, it provided Close Support (Combat Medical Technicians and Medical Officers) to front line battle groups and also clinical personnel to the Camp Bastion (UK) Role 3 (Field Hospital); all of which made up the Joint Forces Medical Group.
