De bereiding van a g ë 1-bladreepen tot weef klaar garen, zooals deze werkwijze veel op Madoeraen ook in Pasoeroean, Jogjakarta en Tjilatjap wordt toegepast, is zeer eenvoudig. Men scheurtde vezelachtige bladreepen, die bereid zijn ensobakofkobal heeten, (zie het hoofdstuk overmaterialen), eenvoudig met de vingers tot smallere reepjes, welke een breedte hebben van 2 tot10 m.M., en welke men tot draad aan elkaar knoopt. Men windt het aldus verkregen agëlgarendan om bamboe klossen op. In dergelijke reepen, zoowel van de kobal (superieure soort, dichte vezels), als van de sobak(inferieure soort, ijle vezels) en gebonden tot lange bossen wordt agël draad uitgevoerd, voor-namelijk naar Soerabaja en verder op Java, waar zij o. m. dient als bindtouw, waarmee tabaks-balen worden toegenaaid. Een pikoel Madoereesch agël draad in dien vorm, en inhoudende + 300 bossen, kost te Soera-48
