Description

This photo shows Coventry Chief Superintendent Andy Nicholson joining an officer on pedal patrol across the city.

Senior officers regularly head out with local policing teams across the West Midlands to offer a visible reassurance to communities.

Pedal cycles are used to patrol larger areas in a shorter time and can also be used off-road in parks and other areas of wasteland.

This image forms part of the West Midlands Police 'Photo of the Day 2012' project.

We will be adding a new photo every day of the year to highlight the breadth of work carried out by police officers and staff across the West Midlands.
