Das Wetter mag sein, wie es will, das Rathaus der Stadt Schwäbisch Hall erstrahlt in hellem Glanz. In Gold getaucht, bildet die Strahlenscheibe die Spitze des Turms mit seinen vier Uhrblättern und seiner schmiedeeisernen Krone. Genauso prächtig zeigt sich das Gebäude im Ganzen. Säulen und Girlanden, Bögen und Kugeln prägen die reich geschmückten Fassaden. Im Stil des Barock wurde 1732 der Grundstein gelegt, 1735 wurde das Rathaus eingeweiht und schließt seither den Marktplatz unterhalb der St. Michaelskirche nach Westen hin ab.
