Deutsch: Astrachan-Verarbeitung.
Astrachan oder Caracul. Die Verarbeitung dieser Felle, richtet sich nach der Art der Behaarung. Schöne moirirte Felle, (Art Breitschwanz) werden wie Breitschwanz behandelt.Felle bei denen das Haar stark nach den Seiten schlägt, aber halbfellig, werden mit Krotzen an Seite zusammengestellt, Astrachan wird im Strich, Kopf nach oben verarbeitet. In einzelnen Fellen kann ein Versetzen der besonders ins Auge fallenden Felle vorgenommen werden. Es ist anzuraten, Quernähte mit grösseren Zacken machen zu lassen. Die Näthe sind besonders bei flachen Fellen möglichst an der Hand machen zu lassen. Caracul wird mit dem Haar nach unten gezweckt. Zum Zwecken sind jedoch nur glatte und saubere Bretter zu verwenden, oder ein starkes Papier auf das Brett zu legen, damit die Haare nicht schmutzig und die Locken nicht aufgerissen werden. Astrachansachen sind zur Erhöung der Haltbarkeit mit leichtem Stoff zu beheften.
Breitschwänze und Astrachaner werden auch in natureller, weisser Farbe verarbeitet, und sind hin und wieder auch braun und blau gefärbt worden.
