Description Wilderness areas, such as Dark Canyon Wilderness Area, are often preserved for their cultural and historical significance. Dark Canyon was once home to a small segment of the widespread Anasazi Indians. The area is extraordinarily beautiful. Please remember it is against the law to remove or disturb any archaeological resources you may encounter. U.S. Forest Service photo.
