Summary
[edit]DescriptionDaniel O'Connell, the great Irish liberator.jpg |
English: "Daniel O'Connell. The Great Irish liberator." Lithograph of Irish political leader Daniel O'Connell (1775–1847). This is a scan of the copy deposited at the Library of Congress to register copyright for it in 1874. Notice the copyright stamp in the upper left corner: Copyright Jun 11 1874. Inscription immediate below the picture (left and right part): Publ. & Print. by Th. Kelly, 17 Barclay St. N.Y. Centre notice: Entered according to the act of Congress in the year 1874 by Th. Kelly in the Office of the Librarian of Congress at Washington D.C. Quotes in the lower left corner: Let us never tolerate the slightest inroad on the discipline of our ancient, our holy church. He who commits a crime gives strength to the enemy. Hereditary bondsmen, know ye not who would be free himself must strike the blow? Quote in the lower right corner: I warn the British minister against either intimidating or coercing the people of Ireland. They are a brave and a chivalrous race whose valor the history of all Europe attests. If ever they be driven to the field to vindicate their liberties, they may not want another Bolivar to animate their efforts. |
