Summary

[edit]
Description
English: A former apothecary shop built in 1781 by Dr. Reuben Smith (1737-1804) for his private home at 74 North Street in Litchfield, CT. One of the earliest commercial buildings still existing in Connecticut. In 1812 it was moved to its current location north of the Green on Route 202, to become the Luke Lewis grocery shop. Located in the historic district of the town, it has served numerous commercial purposes over the years, and previously served as the home of the M. LaHart Company. It is currently used as an office by Dr. Cameron C. Brown.
