Deutsch: „Das Wappen der Stadt Wassenberg zeigt in Blau eine goldene (gelbe) Zinnentorburg, bestehend aus zwei dreizinnigen schlanken Seitentürmen, die einen mächtigeren dreizinnigen Mittelturm mit offenem Tor flankieren. Der die Seitentürme nach oben wie unten überragende Mittelturm ist belegt mit einem zwiegeschwänzten, gekrönten, roten Löwen.“
English: „The arms were granted on August 21, 1974 and are based on the old arms. The colours of the filed and castle are taken from the colours of Geldern and due to the heraldic rule of tincture, the colour of the lion had to be red as silver was not possible. “
