Object history
Deutsch: Die Gemeinde Theisseil wurde 1972 aus den zuvor selbständigen Gemeinden Edeldorf, Letzau und Roschau neu gebildet. Die zwei Sterne sind aus dem Wappen der Grafschaft Störnstein übernommen, zu der die ehemalige Gemeinde Roschau gehörte. Die gestümmelten Äste stammen aus dem Familienwappen der Herren von Schirnding, denen bis 1407 die Hofmark Wilchenreuth in der ehemaligen Gemeinde Edeldorf und vom 15. bis zum 17. Jahrhundert ein Teil der Anwesen in Edeldorf unterstanden. Die Tingierung in Silber und Blau erinnert an die Zugehörigkeit des übrigen Gemeindegebiets zum Amt Floß, das Bestandteil des wittelsbachischen Territoriums Pfalz-Sulzbach war.
