Object history
Deutsch: Das auf einen Vorschlag der Archivdirektion Stuttgart vom Jahre 1924 zurückgehende Wappen bezieht sich auf eine Ableitung des Gemeindenamens von dem Begriff „Stadel", unter dem ein zur Vorratshaltung bestimmtes Gebäude verstanden wird. Vielleicht bildete ein Vorratshaus des Klosters Ellwangen den Ursprung der Siedlung. Das Landratsamt Ostalbkreis hat die Flagge am 4. Februar 1981 verliehen.
