Object history
Deutsch: Der Wellenbalken ist sprechendes heraldisches Bild für den Namensbestandteil -bach. Die stilisierte Tanne symbolisiert die Lage der Gemeinde im Vorderen Bayerischen Wald und redet für die Gemeindeteilnamen Herrnthann und Haagthann. Die drei schwarzen Rauten sind vom Familienwappen der Grafen von Törring hergeleitet, die vom 17. bis zum 19. Jahrhundert die Herrschaft Falkenstein innehatten; dazu gehörte auch Rettenbach und verschiedene andere Orte der Gemeinde.
