Object history
Deutsch: Die zwei Bischofsstäbe erinnern an die Passauer Fürstbischöfe Johann Philipp von Lamberg und Leopold Ernst von Firmian, die die Kolonisation in der Gegend von Philippsreut im 17. und 18. Jahrhundert vorantrieben. Unter Bischof Philipp wurde Philippsreut 1692 mit sechs Anwesen begründet; die Siedlung wurde auch Pfenniggeigenhäuser genannt. Der Wellenbalken über den silbernen Nadelbäumen illustriert die geografische Lage der Gemeinde am Wagenwasser an der böhmischen Grenze und inmitten von ausgedehnten Wäldern.
