Object history
Deutsch: Das Wappen weist auf zwei Adelsfamilien hin, die für Oberstreu von großer Bedeutung waren. Der Hühnerfuß ist dem Wappen der Herren von Kere entnommen, einem Dienstmannengeschlecht der Grafen von Henneberg, die seit 1453 im Ort belegt sind. Der Schräglinksbalken kommt aus dem Wappen der Herren von Stein. Sie traten die Besitznachfolge der Herren von Kere in Oberstreu an. Die Farben Silber und Rot sind die Farben des Hochstifts Würzburg und weisen auf die territoriale Zugehörigkeit zum Fürstbistum Würzburg bis zum Ende des Alten Reichs 1803 hin.
