English: „Chequy gules and Argent; in the chief a label of six points azure, covered with a quarter, charged with an arm with a ring issuant Or out of the left border.“ The arms were ordered by the club devoted to the maintenance of local traditions and characteristics and were designed by Lothar Müller-Westphal, a well known heraldist. They are derived from a seal of the knight Johann (von Löwenburg gen.) von Merheim. The chequy shield is derived from the arms of the lords of Sponheim; the label is the sign of the younger line of the lords. |
