Object history | Der goldene Schragen auf rotem Feld stammt aus dem Wappen der Grafen von Oettingen und erinnert an deren Herrschaft im Ort. Der silberne Schild mit den beiden Bärenranken ist das Wappen des früheren Ortsadels, der Herren von Maihingen, auch Maingen genannt. Das Geschlecht ist seit 1280 urkundlich nachweisbar und erscheint nach 1372 nicht mehr. Die Familie ist vermutlich ausgestorben. Die Edlen von Maihingen waren Vasallen der Grafen von Oettingen. | ||||
