Object history
Deutsch: Der Adlerfang erscheint als städtische Wappenfigur zuerst im ältesten bekannten, für 1499 belegten, dem Stil nach jedoch einige Jahrzehnte älteren Siegel von Möckmühl. Während für diese Figur keine Deutung bekannt ist, darf das seit etwa 1585 nachweisbare, seit 1613 auch als Marksteinzeichen auftretende und im Stadtsiegel schließlich seit dem Jahre 1645 mit dem Adlerfang vereinigte Mühlrad als „redende" Wappenfigur angesprochen werden. Die Wappenfarben stehen im wesentlichen seit dem 16. Jahrhundert fest.
