Description
Deutsch: Wappen der ehemaligen Gemeinde Halverde, seit 1975 Ortsteil von Hopsten: „In Blau über einem goldenen (gelben) Wellenbalken, ein goldener (gelber) balzender Auerhahn.“ Der Auerhahn, oder auch Birkhahn genannt, soll nun darauf hinweisen, dass sich in der moorigen und wasserreichen Gemarkung von Halverde bis in die jüngste Zeit Auerwild gehalten hat. Die Wellenbalken soll den Wasserreichtum versinnbildlichten.
English: „Azure, above a fess wavy Or a displayed black grouse Or.“ The arms were granted on December 4, 1969. The black grouse is a typical bird in the area. The fess wavy symbolises the moorlands.
