Object history
Deutsch: Gundelfingen war seit 1507 im Besitz der Markgrafen von Baden. Ein Vogt tritt 1341 erstmals urkundlich in Erscheinung, Gerichtssiegel sind seit 1543 belegt. Die ältesten Siegel zeigen in einem Wappenschild einen Laub- und einen Nadelbaum nebeneinander. Eine Erklärung dieses Motivs ist bisher nicht möglich gewesen. Der zweite, seit 1574 nachweisbare Siegeltyp bringt in gespaltenem Schild vorn den Schrägbalken als Wappen der Ortsherrschaft, hinten eine Tanne, die seit 1661 mit einer Einfriedung umgeben erscheint. Auf diese Art der Darstellung griff man bei der Überprüfung des Gemeindesiegels und -wappens im Jahre 1899 zurück, wobei man das hintere Feld silbern und die Tanne in natürlichen Farben tingierte. Die heutige Farbgebung wurde 1961 festgelegt und vom Innenministerium offiziell zur Kenntnis genommen.
