Deutsch: Der Gemeinde Eitorf ist am 17. September 1934 durch das Preußische Staatsministerium des Inneren in Berlin das Recht zur Führung eines Wappens verliehen worden. Der wachsende bergische Löwe weist auf die frühere Zugehörigkeit Eitorfs zum Herzogtum Berg hin. Die Eicheln waren bereits in dem 1580 verliehenen Eitorfer Gerichtssiegel als redendes Symbol des ehemaligen Gerichtssitzes (Dingstuhls) Eitorf enthalten. Der silberne Turm stellt den Turm der im Jahre 1167 konsekrierten Pfarrkirche auf dem Marktplatz dar. Leider wurde hier gegen die heraldische Farbregel verstoßen, welche lautet das Farben nicht an Farben sondern nur an Metalle (Gold und Silber) grenzen dürfen. English: „The right part of the arms shows the lion of Berg, as the area belonged historically to Berg, and two acorns, as a canting symbol (former Eichdorp=oak-village). This combination was already seen on the oldest seals of the town, known since 1580. The left part of the arms shows the local church, which dated from the 14th century, but was destroyed in the Second World War.“ |
