Deutsch: Wappen des ehemaligen Dorfes Brück , früherer Ortsteil der Gemeinde Merheim seit 1914 Stadtteil von Köln: „In Silber (Weiß) ein durchgehender dreilätziger schwarzer Turnierkragen; drüber schwebend ein schreitender blaubewehrter roter doppelschwänziger Löwe; unten aus dem Schildfuß wachsend zwei grünbeblätterte schwarze Rohrkolben.“
Das Wappen wurde vom Brücker Geschichts- und Heimatverein an einen Heraldiker in Auftrag gegeben. Der Turnierkragen oder Steeg steht "redend" für den Ortsnamen Brück. Der Löwe ist der Bergische und erinnert an die früheren Landesherren des Herzogtum Bergs. Die Rohrkolben symbolisieren die Landschaft um den Flehbach und dessen Aue.) English: „Argent a label of three point sable; above an armed and langued azure double-tailed lion passant gules; below, out of the base two leaved vert bulrushes sable.“ The arms were orderd by the club devoted to the maintenance of local traditions and characteristics and were designed by a well known heraldist. They show the lion of the duchy of Berg, the canting label of three points (looks like a bridge (Brück) and the bulrushes, who stand for the Flehbach brook and its medows. |
