Object history

Das Antoniuskreuz (Glöckchenstab) ist ein Attribut des hl. Antonius, der seit 1956 als Kirchenpatron aufgeführt wird. Die Ähren sollen an die Entstehungsgeschichte der Gemeinde als Rodungsort und landschaftlicher Gutshof erinnern. In einer Schenkung des Propstes von St. Simeon in Trier aus dem Jahre 1097 wird Beuren „apud buram“ genannt.

Die Urne weist auf die römischen Funde in den Gemarkungen „Burg“ und „Hargarten“ sowie auf einen Römerweg von der Mosel her, wenige hundert Meter davon entfernt.
