| Description |
Bahasa Indonesia: Transportasi tradisional yang hampir hilang tergerus zaman. Delman/Andong adalah bagian dari sejarah Indonesia. Kendaraan beroda dua yang ditarik oleh kuda dan dikendalikan oleh seorang kusir ini sudah ada sejak zaman penjajahan Belanda. Delman berasal dari nama seorang insinyur Belanda yang bernama Charles Theodore Deeleman.
Pada masa Pemerintah Hindia Belanda di Indonesia, delman digunakan sebagai alat transportasi utama dan sering digunakan untuk perjalanan jarak jauh. Dulu, hanya orang penting dan orang kaya saja yang bisa menaiki kendaraan ini. Sekarang, delman hanya digunakan sebagai transportasi jarak pendek atau untuk kendaraan di tempat wisata. Pada beberapa kawasan wisata, delman diizinkan beroperasi dengan mengikuti aturan kebersihan perkotaan, seperti menggunakan penampung kotoran kuda. Meski sudah jarang ditemui, masih banyak yang senang naik kendaraan ini. |
