Description
Italiano: Apparecchio ideato dall'autore del libro (P. E. Alessandri) e costruito da Zambelli in Torino per permettere il prelievo di volumi di gas rimosso da un soluto. L'apparecchio è composto da un cilindro graduato A, con una base larga e dotata di due aperture B, e una sommità chiusa da un rubinetto S con portagomma H. L'apparecchio viene riempito da mercurio; chiuso S, aperto il morsetto D ed abbassato il braccio laterale C, si introduce dall'ingresso D il gas prodotto dalla degassificazione di circa 1-2 litri di acqua. Il gas sposta il mercurio, che esce dal braccio laterale C, e viene raccolto. Chiuso il morsetto L ed alzato in verticale il tubo C è possibile estrarre dal rubinetto in alto S una porzione definita di gas per svolgere delle analisi.
English: Custom apparatus commissioned by the author (P. E. Alessandri) to the Zambelli firm in Turin (Italy) to collect measurable volumes of gas. The apparatus is composed of a graduated cylinder A, wider at the bottom with two openings B and closed off with a stopcock S and an exit H. The apparatus is filled with mercury through a side tube C, then the gas is bubbled in through the side tube L, opened with a Mohr clip D: as the gas fills the graduated top portion, the displaced mercury leaves through side tube C, now placed horizontally. After the tube is filled, clip D is closed, arm C is raised, and the gas can be drawn by opening stopcock S. This apparatus is designed to collect and then dispense the gas produce by the degassing of 1-2 liters of water.
