| Description |
Sign at the McConnell Road–Trout Run Road junction, Potter County, within Susquehannock State Forest. McConnell Road is part of a network of unimproved (dirt- and gravel-surfaced) roads found throughout the state forest. Most vehicles can safely negotiate these roads. During my visit, however, I encountered a long stretch of McConnell Road that was badly rutted from heavy gas-truck and logging-truck traffic. This stretch was a challenge even for my high-clearance, four-wheel-drive vehicle. |
